Sholay makers demand Rs 3 cr for Pawan's Gabbar Singh 2

The rumours about Gabbar Singh 2 have been doing the rounds in the film nagar, ever since Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh got an overwhelming opening at the Box Office. The latest we hear is that the sequel is ready to go on floor, but landed in the title problem as the makers of Sholay, Sippys are said to be seeking 10-15 times of the amount they charged for the title of Gabbar Singh. Ramesh Sippy has trademarked Sholay and all its iconic characters. Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh Babu had earlier paid Rs 25 lakhs to use the name Gabbar Singh for his Blockbuster movie starring Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Hassan in leads. Now, the producers of Sholay are reportedly demanding Rs 3 to 4 crores for the title of Gabbar Singh 2. Gabbar Singh has become all time highest grosser movie in Tollywood. With its producers and Pawan Kalyan planning Gabbar Singh 2, Ramesh Sippy's children Rohan and Sheena, who are handling his business, have jacked up the price by 10 to 15 times for the title of its sequel, an English daily quotes a source as saying. Now, the production house is reportedly in a dilemma. A source from the team claim that they are no longer ready to shell out such a hefty sum for just a title. They will definitely look at the possibility of an alternative title for the sequel. The source further hints that Bengal Tiger is one of the titles being considered for the upcoming film.
